Congratulations to Charlotte Fisk who has been selected to attend the Sydney Dance Company’s 2020 Summer Contemporary Youth Dance Lab at the Sydney Dance Company Studios January 6-10 inclusive. This Dance Lab has been specifically designed for young dancers who show commitment and passion to their dancing and allows young dancers to work with industry-based artists and observe alongside Australia’s leading contemporary dance company in action. A super opportunity! Charlotte was one of only 14 students selected from 100+ applications. The course will be run by Holy Doyle, dancer with the company for the last 7 years, Rafael Bonachela and choreographer Zachary Lopez.
Charlotte is also the recipient of the 2020 KHSD Contemporary Scholarship

Wonderful news! Congratulations to Eloise Alsop, Cailtin Melhuish and Georgia WiIshire. Eloise has been accepted into the Conservatory Program and or the 5 Week Advanced Summer Intensive in Chicago at the Joffrey Ballet Academy, the official school and only training program of the Joffrey Ballet Company. USA! The Conservatory Program is for a select number of students displaying a high level of technique, dedication and artistry. We are so proud and pleased as punch for the recognition for you Eloise. Caitlin has been offered a place in the 5 week Advanced Summer intensive at the Joffrey Chicago Ballet School and Georgia has been offered a place in the Junior! Very proud of you girls.

Georgia successfully auditioned from a field of 200 11 and 12 year olds to be 1 of 30 to appear in the Victorian State Ballet Company’s production of Don Quixote in Sydney in March

The KHSD family would like to congratulate Ms Kim who was presented with the RAD Presidents Award. This evening at cocktail party at the Hyatt Ms Kim received the award from Bronwyn Watkins and Luke Rittner of the RAD. The President’s award is given to an individual who has for many years dedicated themselves over and above the call of duty to the Royal Academy of Dance in particular and to the art of dance in general. I think we can all agree that’s Kim Harvey. Presidents awards are a rare and distinguished honour. What a way to start 30 years of KHSD!

Congratulations to KHSDians Caitlin Melhuish and Charlotte Barker who represented KHSD and themselves beautifully at the RAD Bursary ACT Semi Finals at our very own studios KHSD@The Oak.
The adjudicator for the day was the very accomplished Adrian Burnett. So proud of you both and we are very pleased to announce that Caitlin will represent the ACT at the National Finals.
Caitlin danced beautifully at the finals and all of KHSD is very proud of both Caitlin and Charlotte for their achievements.
Congratulations to the following 2017 KHSD Graduates who were offered places for 2018.
Marcel Cole was offered places at WAAPA (both Diploma and Bachelor), QUT,
Sydney Dance Company Pre-Professional, Transit Dance and New Zealand School of Dance.
He was offered a Vice Chancellor Scholarship of $10,000 for study at QUT.
Marcel has also been offered a scholarship to the Bolshoi Summer Intensive
in New York thanks to the Youth America Grand Prix Australian
Workshops - this will be taken up in 2018

Elliot Dunn was offered places at WAAPA (both Diploma and Bachelor), VCA and QUT.

Congratulations to Kate Bitmead and Sabrina Madaffari who are Semi Finalists for the RAD Genée International Ballet Competition 2017. After a lot of hard work and attaining a Distinction for Advanced 2 the girls have qualified to compete this year at the Genée held in Lisbon Portugal. From 7 – 16 September the girls will participate in classes and coaching to then present a class on stage and their variations in front of a panel of judges (Dame Monica Mason - former Director of The Royal Ballet, Christopher Hampson - Artistic Director of Scottish Ballet, Lynn Wallis OBE - Former Artistic Director of the Royal Academy of Dance) Ms Kim and all of the KHSD faculty are very proud of Kate and Sabrina and wish them the best of luck and fun in Lisbon.

A few of KHSDs soloists performed recently at Riverside Dance Festival. The fantastic results can be seen here. We are very proud of every KHSD dancer who participated and performed showing their love of dance goes beyond KHSD walls.
It was lovely to sit in the audience and watch all the young dancers and choreography at Escalate on Sunday 9th April 2017. KHSD is Especially proud of Mikayla Brady and her choreography and her fellow KHSDian dancers Sabrina Madaffari, Elliot Dunn, Marcel Cole and Olivia Smith (pictured). Kate Bitmead (pictured right) recently represented KHSD at the ACT RAD Bursary Semi Finals in Sydney. She is off to Melbourne at the end of November as the ACT finalist. Well Done Kate!
Kate Bitmead (pictured left) recently competed in the prestigious Robert & Elizabeth Albert Junior Classical Ballet Scholarship for 14 & 15 years, which is apart of th City of Sydney Eisteddfod. Kate progressed through to the Semi Finals. Well done Kate!

Recently KHSDian Antonia Hewitt has accepted a contract with Rambert Dance Company in the UK. Antonia has been dancing with the Royal New Zealand Ballet as we are very excited to follow her on her continuing dance journey.

A huge congratulations to Eliza Sanders
A 2014 New Zealand School of Dance Graduate (contemporary stream)
Eliza was accepted into the Sydney Dance Company Pre Professional Year.
However she will not be taking up the offer.
Instead she will be exploring the world of dance
with a $10,000 grant from the Australia Council.
