2019 KHSD Calendar   

Kim Harvey School of Dance @ the Oak was recently featured on the TV program Pushing Boundries Australia, a show that counts down from 10 to 1 - Australia's most impressive architectural statements in each state for 2017. The Oak was apart of the 2 ACT episodes and was very honoured to be selected 4th.  You can see the footage here KHSD @ the Oak starts at 6:30.

It was lovely to sit in the audience and watch all the young dancers and choreography at Escalate on Sunday 9th April 2017. KHSD is Especially proud of Mikayla Brady and her choreography and her fellow KHSDian dancers Sabrina Madaffari, Elliot Dunn, Marcel Cole and Olivia Smith (pictured). You can read a lovely review of the showcase here. Thank you Liz Lea and Ausdance ACT for this wonderful mentoring initiative and all the mentors. Congratulations to 2016 KHSD Graduate Emily Mulholland who was offered places at

VCA - Bachelor in Dance and WAAPA - Bachelor in Dance.

Emily will be continuing her professional dance training in Perth at the

Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts

On December 10 2016 Charlotte Barker represented KHSD and the ACT/Southern New South Wales in Sydney as a finalist in the RAD Genee Dance Challenge. We are all very proud of Charlotte.

Laura Rainey - offered a place at VCA- Bachelor in Dance for 2016 but has chosen

to accept an offer at the Queensland Conservatorium through Griffith University

for a Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical Voice Performance


Aliya Chalmers will be continuing to dance with (NAISDA) 

The National Aboriginal Islander Skills Development Association Dance College


Isabelle Knevett will be continuing to dance at Ev and Bow, Sydney


Annie Kruger - ACPA, Adelaide Company of Performing Arts


Charli Scott - VCA Bachelor of Dance


Katerina Babajanov will be continuing to dance  at AMPA. Kat was also offered places at the National College of Dance, Transit Dance and Queensland National Ballet School


Also Zahra Dixon former KHSDian who recently completed training at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet will be continuing to dance with the New Zealand School of Dance this year.


Well done girls!

Kate Bitmead (pictured right) recently represented KHSD at the ACT RAD Bursary Semi Finals in Sydney. She is off to Melbourne at the end of November as the ACT finalist. Well Done Kate!

Kate Bitmead (pictured left) recently competed in the prestigious Robert & Elizabeth Albert Junior Classical Ballet Scholarship for 14 & 15 years, which is apart of th City of Sydney Eisteddfod. Kate progressed through to the Semi Finals. Well done Kate!

KHSD's Dimity Azoury has been promoted to Soloist with The Australian Ballet. We are very proud and excited to see her bright future with The Australian Ballet unfold.


Recently KHSDian Antonia Hewitt has accepted a contract with Rambert Dance Company in the UK. Antonia has been dancing with the Royal New Zealand Ballet as we are very excited to follow her on her continuing dance journey.

2014 KHSD Graduates have a many choices for their future in dance. 
They have a lot to be proud of and we are very proud of them.

Olivia Hendry - WAAPA Classical Diploma, QUT BA in Dance Performance, VCA BA in Dance,

Joffrey Ballet NYC and AMDA USA. Olivia was offered a $10,000 - Vice-Chancellor's Creative Industries ( Dance ) Scholarship from QUT for 2015. 

Olivia has chosen to continue her studies at WAAPA.


Gabrielle Carter- WAAPA Diploma in Classical Dance, QUT BA in Dance Performance,

VCA BA in Dance, Joffrey Ballet USA, AMDA USA.

Gabby has chosen to continue her studies at QUT.


Natalie Whalley - WAAPA Diploma in Classical Ballet or BA Contemporary Dance,

QUT BA in Dance Performance, VCA BA in Dance, AMDA USA and BA in Musical Theatre at

Federation University.

Natalie has chosen to continue her studies at WAAPA.


Montanna Cloos - WAAPA Classical Diploma, QUT BA in Dance and VCA BA in Dance


Jack Whiter - NZSD Classical Stream, Queensland Ballet Pre Professional Year and WAAPA Classical Diploma.

Jack has chosen to continue his studies at NZSD.

A huge congratulations to Eliza Sanders 

A 2014 New Zealand School of Dance Graduate (contemporary stream)

Eliza was accepted into the Sydney Dance Company Pre Professional Year. 

However she will not be taking up the offer.

Instead she will be exploring the world of dance

with a $10,000 grant from the Australia Council.

KHSD and the Canberra Area Theatre Awards 22nd February 2014
The CAT awards nominations were on the 16th of December 2013. KHSD was loved by every judge who came along to the concert and many fantastic things were said about everyone involved in the show. On Saturday 22nd February KHSD performed the 'Intermission' piece from MY FAIR LADY at the CAT awards after a request from the organisers. Again there was an overwhelming positive response to our performance. The Musical Theatre and Acting talent of the Canberra region is phenomenal and we were very lucky to be a witness to a few of them at the awards gala.
We were very honoured to be included in this amazing event and congratulations to all!

Our fabulous William has been offered a contract with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. William is excited to start the New Year with the company.

Gabby and Olivia do KHSD pround in Scotland at the 2013 Royal Acadamy of Dance International Genee Competition.
In September 2013 Gabrielle Carter and Olivia Hendry travelled to Glasgow to participate in the Genee ballet competition with 60 other dancers from around the world. Gabby and Olivia qualified for this prestigious event by achieving a distinction in their Advanced Two exam which was an achievement in itself. We are very proud of the girls and how they performed at the Genee.
